So, Interac is going to roll out PIN-less debit cards. You have them over a flash reader, similar to a PayPass card.
That's it, no PIN, no ways to prove that you're the owner of the card - just tap-and-go.
Now, does this not strike you as a really bad idea? They just made it a hell of a lot easier to steal and use debit cards.
The security measures they implemented? The same as before, but the maximum amount of money you can use with these cards is $50.
SO YEAH! They aren't secure, and the seem to think that people will notice immediately when their card is missing.
This is SO not a good idea.
